POLISH EARLY MVSIC |
Composers | Essays | Sources | Feedback | Editorial |
Completorium is a work in progress, and you could contribute to it in many fashions. Maybe even now, things we are looking for rest snugly on your disk? We will be really, really grateful for anything from following list. And don't forget all the good karma you will receive for your help...
Self-explanatory. Even if the piece is already published here but you feel that you could do better work of interpretation, it is welcome. Example: Zieleñski's motets sequenced by Michał Małecki.
Poland is the best place to obtain Polish EM sheets, right? Wrong. Most of the music was published a long time ago, in small quantities, and is out of print.
Anything that's not already here.
We are not so Puritan about the looks of this site. I just don't have time, skills and patience enough to create something not too repulsive. Greatly appreciated would be: composers' portrays, backgrounds, logo etc... Most wanted are: backrounds - preferably imitating pale yellow vellum; long thin ornaments from early manuscripts that could work as horizontal rules; a complete set of initials from A to Z, both color illuminations and b-w print.
Well, this is less obvious. If you want to share music in mp3 format, it must be: (a) *absolutely* legal, with copyright holder's permission, and (b) decently performed. Besides, my webspace will allow for one, maybe two more mp3 files :(
Do I have to make it clear?! A large cheque would work miracles on our morale
and motivate us to future work.
OK, just kidding, unfortunately...
Recently I started to translate the titles from Polish to English. This is a somewhat crude work, because I can express the meaning of the title but not it's "feeling" and poetry. If anyone thinks that he/she could do a better work in finding early modern English equivalents, please help me straighten things up.
